




On 23 February 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy and the Office of Educational Affairs held an exchange forum between the Royal Thai Government’s postgraduate scholarship students and officials from Thai governmental agencies (Team Thailand) in Tokyo, who are former Thai Government’s scholarship students, at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. On this occasion, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun delivered a remark and gave advices to the students on how to prepare themselves to be a good government official. Team Thailand officials also shared their work experiences with those students.

On 29 January 2021, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand, exchanged views with Mr. KUWATA Hajime, President of Japan - Thailand Economic Cooperation Society (JTECS) and his management team on the collaboration between Thailand and JTECS, particularly the “Smart Monodzukuri project”.
On 28 January 2021,H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand joined the Ambassadors of ASEAN Countries in Japan in the “Handing over Ceremony of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Chairmanship”through online platform.During the event, H.E. USoe Han, Ambassador of Myanmar as the outgoing ACT Chair, symbolically handed over the gavel to H.E. Mr. Jose C. Laurel V, Ambassador of the Philippines who will be the new ACT Chair during January-June 2021. Note that the term of ACT Chairmanship is 6 months and rotated among the ASEAN Embassies in Japan.
On 24 January 2021, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun attended the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament 2021 at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan and presented the Thailand-Japan Friendship Trophy to Sumo Champion Daieisho, the first Sumo wrestler from Saitama prefecture who ever won the highest division of Grand Sumo Tournament.
On 22 January 2021, H.E. Mr.SingtongLapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, and Group Captain Tanasak Boonthanom, Air Attache, attended the United Nations Command-Rear (UNCR) Change of Command Ceremony at the Yokota Air Base as Thailand is a member of United Nations Command. On this occasion, Ambassador Singtong congratulated Group Captain Lyle Holt, Royal Australian Air Force, on his assumption as the Commander of UNCR with a 3-year term of office.
On 21 January 2021, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun had an interview with Mr. Hiroshi SAWABE, Executive Director, and Ms. MATSUOKA Maya, Manager, Office of International Tourism, Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) regarding the future of Thailand’s tourism industry.
