Merit-making ceremony to celebrate the 120thanniversary of the birth of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol, Queen Grandmother of Thailand (1900-1995)

On 21 October 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo held a merit-making ceremony to celebrate the 120thanniversary of the birth of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra Mahidol, Queen Grandmother of Thailand at Wat Paknam Japan. Ambassador SingtongLapisatepun and officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo as well as their spouses attended the ceremony and made a merit by offering food and necessities to the monks.

Ambassador attended the ASEAN Committee Tokyo Virtual Meeting

On 16 October 2020, H.E. Ambassador Singtong participated in “The 300th ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Virtual Meeting” chaired by H.E. Mr. Myint Thu, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chair of the ACT. Embracing the new normal amidst the ongoing COVID-19, the Meeting was held through online means. During the Meeting, participating Ambassadors and representative shared information and exchanged views on the recent situation in Japan as well as regional issues.

On 15 October 2020, Mr. MASAKI Hiroshi, Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive, Global Commercial Banking Business Unit, MUFG Bank, Ltd. paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun.

The Royal Thai Embassy organised the ceremony in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.

On 13 October 2020, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun presided over the ceremony in remembrance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great at the Royal Thai Embassy’s Hall. Officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo and their spouses also attended the ceremony and joined in the wreath-laying and candle-lighting to commemorate the demise of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.

Chief Representative of JICA Thailand paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador

On 12 October 2020, Mr. MORITA Takahiro, Chief Representative of JICA Thailand and Ms. MIYAZAKI Katsura, former Chief Representative of JICA Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun and discussed the cooperation between Thailand  and Japan in various areas.

The former Chairman of JETRO Bangkok pays a courtesy call on Ambassador

On 12 October 2020, Mr. MITSUMATA Hiroki, the former Chairman of JETRO Bangkok and the current Secretary-General, Secretariat of Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters, Cabinet Office, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun to bid farewell as he will complete his assignment at the Cabinet Office.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Honduras to the Kingdom of Thailand with Residence in Tokyo pays a courtesy call on Ambassador

On 8 October 2020, H.E. Mr. Héctor Alejandro Palma Cerna, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Honduras to the Kingdom of Thailand with Residence in Tokyo paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Japan. Both sides discussed about the strengthening of bilateral relations between Thailand and Honduras, as well as cooperation in the multilateral fora.

Ambassador attended the Shinkansen High-Speed Train Series N700S launch event

On 6 October 2020, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun represented the Thai government to attend the Shinkansen high-speed train Series N700S launch event at the invitation of the International High Speed Rail Association (IHRA) and the Central Japan Railway Company.  

Ambassador gave a lecture on the Thai economy during and Post COVID-19 at the Keidanren seminar

On 6 October 2020, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun gave a lecture on the Thai economy during and Post COVID- 19 to more than 70 audiences at the Seminar held through Zoom by the Japanese Business Federation, Keidanren.

The Ambassador of Thailand and spouse hosted a farewell dinner in honour of H.E. U Myint Thu, Ambassador of Myanmar to Japan

On 30 September 2020, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun and spouse, Mrs. Porndee Lapisatepun, hosted a farewell dinner in honour of H.E. U Myint Thu, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Japan, with the participation of other ASEAN Ambassadors, Madams and representatives. As a token of friendship and to bid farewell, a crystal plaque with inscription of signatures of ASEAN Ambassadors to Japan was presented to H.E. Ambassador U Myint Thu. The dinner became yet another good opportunity for ASEAN Ambassadors and Madams in Tokyo to strengthen solidarity of ASEAN and warm friendship.
