Ambassador Singtong participated in “The 299 th ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Virtual Meeting”

On 13 August 2020, Ambassador Singtong participated in “The 299th ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Virtual Meeting” chaired by H.E. Mr. Myint Thu, Ambassador of Myanmar and Chair of the ACT. This is the first ACT meeting after Myanmar assumed the ACT Chairmanship in July 2020. Embracing the new normal amidst the ongoing COVID-19, this meeting was held through an online platform. During the Meeting, participating Ambassadors and representative shared information and exchanged views on the situation in respective countries while confirming close cooperation among ASEAN Embassies in Tokyo in efforts with regard to the COVID-19.

On 12 August 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo organised the auspicious ceremony to celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, at the Royal Thai Embassy’s Hall. The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun and attended by officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo and their spouses. The attendees also took this opportunity to sign the congratulatory book on Her Majesty The Queen Mother's Birthday Anniversary.

Mayor of Misato City calls on Ambassador of Thailand

On 5 August 2020, Mr. MATSUTA Tomomi, Mayor of Misato Town, Akita Prefecture, called on Ambassador SingtongLapisatepun to present a DVD recordingmessages of support and encouragement from Akita’s youthfor the Badminton Association of Thailand and schools in Nonthaburi Province.Misato Townis a host town for the Thai national badminton teamto practice and familiarise themselves to Japan’s climate before competing in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The Royal Thai Embassy facilitated the return of Thai people in Japan to Thailand by Japan Airline’s special flight.

On 5 August 2020, Thai people living in Japan returned to Thailand by Japan Airline (JAL) flight JL031 from Haneda Airport and arrived in Thailand at 15.40 hours.

On 31 July 2020, Thai people living in Japan returned to Thailand by All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight NH847 from Haneda Airport and arrived in Thailand at 15.30 hours.

The Royal Decoration Ceremony to Honor Mr. HASHIMOTO Yutaka

On 28 July 2020 at 15:00 hrs., Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun presided over the conferment ceremony of the Royal Decoration of the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn, Member (Fifth Class) of the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn, to Mr. HASHIMOTO Yutaka, a Japanese national who rendered assistance during Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non cave search and rescue operation in Chiang Rai during 23 June – 11 July 2018. The ceremony was held at the Thai Ambassadors’ Residence and was attended by Mrs. HASHIMOTO, officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo and diplomats of the Royal Thai Embassy. After the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. HASHIMOTO also took this opportunity to sign a congratulatory book on His Majesty's Birthday Anniversary.

On 28 July 2020 at 11.30 hrs., H.E. Mr. AKIMOTO Yoshitaka, Grand Master of the Ceremonies of the Imperial Household delivered a congratulatory message from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on the occasion of His Majesty’s 68th birthday at the Thai Residence in Tokyo. H.E. Mr. AKIMOTO was welcomed by Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun and Madam, officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo and diplomats of the Royal Thai Embassy.

On 27 July 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo organised the auspicious ceremony to celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, which will be on 28 July 2020,  at the Royal Thai Embassy’s Hall. The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun and attended by officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo and their spouses. Ambassador Singtong also led officials to take the swearing of an oath to give their best in serving the nation and join forces to move the nation forward for His Majesty the King. The attendees also took this opportunity to sign on a congratulatory book on His Majesty's Birthday Anniversary.

Executive of NHK World paid a courtesy call on Thai Ambassador.

On 22 July 2020, Ms. DODEN Aiko, Senior Director of NHK World, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun. She was accompanied by Mr. MATSUO Keisuke, NHK correspondent. They exchanged views on ways forward to further strengthen media cooperation between Thailand and Japan.
