On Sunday, 14 October 2018, Minister Counsellor Salinee attended the ASEAN Festival in Japan 2018, organised by the ASEAN Youth Network in Japan where the Thai Students’ Association in Japan under the Royal Patronage (TSAJ) is also a member. At the event, there were several activities arranged by ASEAN students including an exhibition of ASEAN countries, a national dress’s show, and leisure activities.
Ambassador Bansarn, Madam Yuppadee, Thai diplomats, spouses and Thai citizens in Japan attended the religious ceremony and activities in remembrance of His Majesty late King Bhumibol on occasion of the passing anniversary of His Majesty late King Bhumibol on 13 October 2018.
On 10 October 2018, with the presence Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, the Honorary Chairperson of Japan through Diplomats’ Eyes Photo Exhibition, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag, on his capacity as the Chairman of the Executive Committee attended the awarding ceremony and opening reception of this year’s Photo Exhibition held at Roppongi Hills Café.

On 1 October 2018, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag gave an opening remarks together with H.E. Mr. Ken Saito, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (at that time) at the Royal Park Hotel. On this occasion, the Ambassador expressed that Shoyu is popular in Thailand and is also good as a seasoning for Thai cuisine.
On 29 September 2018, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag presided over and gave an opening remarks for the 1st Thai Festival in Fukuoka together with Mr. Hiroshi Ogawa, Governor of Fukuoka and Mr. Jungo Inoue, Chairman of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly at the Hakata station area. The Ambassador expressed that the 1st Thai Festival in Fukuoka was organized to be celebrated the opening of the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate-General which will be opened from 1st October 2018.
On 23 September 2018, COL Thiratch Sombutsiri as a representative of Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag participated in trophy cremony of Japan-Thailand Relations for Sumo competition this year
Thai students won in the 30th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2018) held in Tsukuba, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan. The silver medalist is Mr Sanchayaphol Liewkasemsant from Kamnoetvidya Science Academy of Rayong. The bronze medalists are Mr Thanadol Chomphuchan from Bunyawat Witthayalai School of Lampang, Mr Jirayu Burapacheep from Bangkok Christian College of Bangkok and Mr Milin Krotnongbua from Kamnoetvidya Science Academy of Rayong. The competition was held between 1-8 September. There were 335 students from 87 countries participated in this competition.
