2014.07.02 Ambassador briefed at the annual conference of the Saitama-Thailand Friendship Association
On 2 July 2014, Ambassador Thanatip Upatising briefed at the annual conference of the Saitama-Thailand Friendship Association, delivering words of gratitude for the association’s 15-year-continuous efforts to strengthen Thailand-Japan and Thailand-Saitama relations. He also emphasized on the Thai government’s commitment to promote its relationship with Japan in all aspects, continuing over 600 years of their strong tie.
Ambassador took this opportunity to lessen concerns towards impacts on business in the country by sharing the audience about current political situation in Thailand. At the same time, he explained the necessity of the National Council of Peace and Order (NCPO) taking power over the nation, saying that the intention was to restore stability as well as pave way for reconciliation. The NCPO’s three-phase roadmap, its commitment to protect the Japanese and their business in Thailand, and economic strategies to tackle the country’s prioritized economic issue were also mentioned.
