On 3 December 2013, Mr. Yordying Supasri, First Secretary, gave a special lecture on Thailand-Japan relations in “Southeast Asia Studies” subject. He mentioned in brief about Thailand before touching upon its history, culture and economic relations, while also emphasizing on the two countries as the old friends and modern partners. Students were allowed to ask questions after the lecture.
Meiji University’s Southeast Asian Studies is the cooperation between the university itself and ASEAN-Japan Centre. The course was firstly introduced in September 2013 in the occasion of the 40th year anniversary of Japan-ASEAN relations. It is expected to build understanding about ASEAN among university students and expand exchange between Japan and ASEAN.
