On 3 March 2020, Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, and Mrs. Porndee Lapisatepun, Ambassador's spouse, gave an interview to Asahi Weekl’s special column "Ambassador's Lunch". Ambassador Singtong and Mrs. Porndee prepared their Thai menus that they often have for lunch, such as Thai jasmine rice served with stir-fried minced pork with basil leaves and fried egg, chicken consomme with egg sausage and vegetables, and Khanom Khrok – Thai-style takoyaki coconut rice cake. Ambassador Singtong and Mrs. Porndee also gave brief explanation on each dish’s preparation which requires special attention to details. The column is published in the Asahi Weekly’s 10 April 2020 issue.
