On 2 July 2010, Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Minister, together with Thai people residing in Japan and Japanese people attended the making-merit ceremony by practicing the dharma to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 78th Birthday Anniversary. The religious ceremony was attended by 120 Thais to practice the dharma, a Buddhist’s duty, from 2 – 4 July 2010, at Wat Paknam Japan, Chiba Prefecture.
On 27 June 2010, Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Minister, together with the Embassy’s officials and Thai people residing in Japan attended the 1st Anniversary Ceremony of WatPa Buddharangsee in Hachioji City, Tokyo. In this occasion, Mr. Singtong mentioned about the Embassy’s temporary relocation and listened to Thai people with comprehension about their difficulties in living in Japan.
On 22 June 2010, Ambassador Virasakdi paid a courtesy call on Mr. Tomikazu Fukuda, Governor of Tochigi Prefecture and the President of Federation of Tochigi Prefecture Chamber of Commerce & Industry.Ambassador discussed with the Governor about the universities in Tochigi which have cooperation with those in Thailand, the prefecture’s plans on tourism and Tochigi’s companies investing in Thailand.
Before lecture, the Ambassador met with Thai volunteers in Saitama Prefecture on how to support the volunteers’ activities and the means to assist Thais in the prefecture.Then at 16.20, the Ambassador lectured on the situation in Thailand for the the Saitama – Thai Friendship Association, led by Mr. Hiroshi Hara, the president, in the occasion of the 12th general assembly of the Association at Kawagoe Tobu Hotel.
Ambassador Virasakdi paid a courtesy call on Mr. Hajime Furuta, Governor of Gifu Prefecture and also met with Mr. Nobuo Kojima, Chairman of the Gifu Chamber of Commerce & Industry.Ambassador Virasakdi discussed with the Governor expansion of investment by Japanese companies from Gifu Prefecture, promotion of Gifu tourism as well as agricultural products to Thailand.
