On August 26, 2011 Madame Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassadors spouse, performed cooking demonstration to the wives of Japanese MPswith a view to promoting Thai cuisine and culture. The Spicy Glass Noodle Salad with Seafood (Yum Woon Sen) and Spicy Lemongrass Soup with Prawns (Tom Yum Kung) were chosen for this special demonstration.
On 21 August 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul and Minister Singtong Lapisatepun attended the 2011 Asian Championship of Marching Band & Baton Twirling in Chiba, where Thailand’s Depsirin School’s marching band joined the competition.

On 31 July 2011, the Embassy and the Office of Labour Affairs provided 2011 Mobile Consular services in Tochigi Prefecture.The services included passport services, civil registration and legalization, as well as basic health check by Doctor Takashi Sawada. The total number of Thai citizens receiving the services was 83 (65 cases for passport services, 14 cases for legalisation, 1 case for birth registration, 4 cases for labour-related counselling, and 3 cases for other counselling). On 23rd Aug. 2011, the Ambassador and Madame attended the Opening Ceremony of the International University Exchange Seminar and Workshop Program 2011 of Mie University to be held during 23-31 Aug. Faculty members and students from Thai Universities - Chiang Mai Univ., King Mongkut’s Univ. of Technology Thonburi, Kasetsart Univ., and Thammasat Univ. - participated in the seminar and program.
On 12 August 2011, the Ambassador and his spouse led the officers from the Embassy and other Thai government agencies in Tokyo to celebrateHer MajestyQueen Sirikit’s 79th anniversary birthday at Wat Pak Nam Japan in Chiba Prefecture.Buddhist ceremony was held to make merit for Her Majesty the Queen, followed by the Ambassador’s blessing speech.
On 5 August 2011, Mme Aumaporn Futrakul hosted a luncheon for 17 wives who experienced staying in Thailand during the time when their Japanese husbands were positioned there. On this occasion, Madame proposed the establishment of “Lady Friends of Thailand Fellowship”.
On 16 August 2011, Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, the ambassadors spouse, and the Embassy officers gave a lecture on Thailand andThai culture to 12 primary school students and their parents.Their visit to the Residence was a part of Foreign Culture Studies Program for the 3rd Children’s International Speech Contest candidates.The contest will be held on 28 August 2011 at Ebisu Garden Place.
