On January 25, 2019, Ms.Dheerangkun Uchino, First Secretary welcomed 12 students of Fuchu 4th Junior High School visiting Royal Thai Embassy as out-of-school learning. On this occasion, students introduced themselves in English, and asked questions and answers about Thai culture and customs.
On January 25, 2019, Mr. Masahiro Sato, Director, Intercultural Research Institute of Meiji Jingu, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Mr. Bansarn Bunnag as a New Year’s greeting at the Ambassador's Residence. On this occasion, Ambassador expressed gratitude to Mr. Sato for cooperation of Japan through Diplomats’ Eyes Photo Exhibition 2018, and discussed the relationship between Thailand and Japan as well as hopes to be closer cooperation between the embassy and Meiji Shrine.
On 25 January 2019, the 12th Asia Africa 20 (AA20) Regular Meeting, which was set up by KYODO PR Co., Ltd. in order to strengthen business relationship between Asia and Africa, was held at Royal Thai Embassy on the theme “Partnership for Sustainability”. On 25 January 2019, Mr. Tomomi Matsuda, Mayor of Misato City, Akita Prefecture paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag at the Ambassador's Residence. On this occasion, both sides agreed to promote people to people level cooperation. In addition, Misato City has also been selected as a host town for badminton athletes in the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020.
On 24 January 2019, the Governor of Mie Eikei Suzuki paid a courtesy call on the Ambassador to express their gratitude to the Royal Thai Embassy as a coordinator in the visit of the Governor and businessmen between 14-15 November 2018 and thanked Thailand for helping to flexible the orange inspection system from Japan before exporting to Thailand which is considered as the main agriculture of the prefecture. In addition, the governor invited the Thai leaders who will attend the G20 meeting in Osaka this year to visit Mie officially.
On January 23, 2019, Mr. Bansan Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, was invited to attend the FEC/AJC ASEAN Forum, which organized by The International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) at the ASEAN-JAPAN Centre. On this occasion, Ambassador gave a briefing on Current Economic Situation and Prospects in Greater Mekong Subregion.
On January 23, 2019, Mr. Akio Matsumoto, Mayor of Hokue Tottori Prefecture paid a courtesy call on Mr. Bansan Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to Tokyo, at the Ambassador's Residence, where displayed the famous painting “The Sea" by Mr. Kanji Maeta from Hokue town, Tottori Prefecture.
On this occasion, both sides discussed about the cultural exchange between Thailand and Hokue town in the future. In addition, Hokue town is also the birthplace of a cartoonist drawing "Conan", and known as a town that can see detective Conan.
On January 21, 2019, Mrs. Dheerangkun Uchino, First Secretary welcomed 5 winners of the 6th Japanese Language Contest in Bangkok organized by Kyoritsu International Foundation on August 23, 2018, and talked with them about the Japanese speech contest and Japan visit. Winners were granted the chance to travel to Japan during 20-27 January 2019.
On 18 January 2019, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, presided over the opening ceremony of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day at the hall of the Royal Thai Embassy, which was organized by the office of the Attache in Tokyo and the Royal Thai Embassy.
