On 15 November 2016, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag presided over the 277th Meeting of ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) at the Royal Thai Embassy. The Ambassadors of ASEAN and representatives from 10 countries attended this meeting in order to enhance the role and raise awareness of ASEAN in Japan continuously.
On 13 November 2016, on behalf of the Royal Thai Embassy, Mr. Nattapong Lathapipat, Minister Counsellor attended Kawagoe Festival which is held every year in Saitama prefecture. Many Thai people from Saitama and Yokohama wearing national dress participated and walked in the parade.

On 30 October 2016, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag presided over the ASEAN Festival, which is organized by the ASEAN Youth Network in Japan. It aimed to enhance understanding and closer relations between ASEAN and Japanese youth through cultural performances and activities.
On 25 October 2016, Mr. Eikei Suzuki, Governor of Mie prefecture visited the Embassy to signed a book of condolences on the passing of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The Governor expressed profound sadness at the passing of the king addressed to the Thai people.
On 23 October 2016, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag presided over the Buddhist merit making ceremony to pay tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at the Royal Thai Embassy on the occasion of the 7 – day mourning cycle.
The Bureau of the Royal Household announced that His Majesty the King Bhumibol passed away on 13 October 2016. The Royal Thai Embassy opens for the book of condolences from today (14 October).
