On 31July 2017, Japan-Thailand Association (JTA) and the Royal Thai Embassy jointly organized the annual Evening Cool Party at Gofukubashi Club, Tokyo to enhance the cooperation between the members of JTA, who have connection with Thailand and the officials of the Embassy. H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag and Mr. Teisuke Kitayama, Chairman of JTA gave the opening remarks including Mr. Fumio Shimizu, Deputy Director-General, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan proposed the opening toast. A lot of people participated in this event.
On 22 July 2017, Ms. Dheerangkun Uchino, First Secretary, delivered a lecture titled the 130th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan. The talk event was organised as part of the “Thai Month” activities currently held at the JICA Global Plaza. As many as 50 Japanese people attended the lecture, during which Ms. Dheerangkun explained about the Thailand-Japan relations from many aspects including political, economic and people-to-people exchanges, followed by an active Q&A session.
On 20 July 2017, Ms. Yasuko Nakai, Japanese professor from Chulalongkorn University, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag to introduce and discuss her plans for a project to celebrate the 130th year anniversary of established diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan.
On 19 July 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag welcomed Mr. Alongkorn Polabutr, Chairman of the Advisory Council of Alternative Energy Institute of Thailand Foundation and Former Minister of Commerce and the delegation. They were paying a visit to Japan to study Japans biomass industry.
On 19 July 2017, Mr. Kazuo Nagayama, Mayor of Ryugasaki city in Ibaraki Prefecture, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag at the Royal Thai Embassy. They discussed the introduction and cooperation of various activities in order to further strengthen the relationship between Thailand and Japan, especially this year, which is the 130th year anniversary of established diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan.
On 19 July 2017, Professor Dr.Worawet Suwanrada and Assistant Professor Dr. Sirima Bunnag, Dean and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Economics in Chulalongkorn University, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag at the Royal Thai Embassy to discuss about exchanging students, researchers and scholars between Universities in Japan and Chulalongkorn University.
On 18 July 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag together with Mr. Shinya Ejima, Senior Vice President of JICA and Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director of Countries Partnership Branch of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) presided over the opening ceremony of “The Month of Thailand” at the headquarters of JICA Global Plaza in Tokyo. On July 15 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag assigned Councellor Ms. Pishayasinee Mulapruk as the President of the Secular Ministry at the opening ceremony. The event was held during July 15-17 2017 at Paknam Temple in Chiba, Japan, with more than 100 Japanese and Thai participants at the ceremony.
On 15 July 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag together with Clinical Professor Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, Minister of Public Health of Thailand, met with H.E. Mr.Yasuhisa Shiozaki, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan at Hilton Tokyo Odaiba Hotel.
On July 14 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag assigned Ms. Natiya Suchinda, the Minister (Commercial), as the representative for the Royal Thai Embassy to encourage the Thai Women’s National Volleyball Team who travelled all the way to Japan to compete in the Volleyball World Grand Prix 2017. The competition was held in Sendai, Miyagi prefecture and the team competed against Japan’s National Team.
