On 4 July 2017, Minister Cherdchai attended the opening reception of the Exhibition “SUNSHOWER: Contemporary Art from Southeast Asia 1980s to Now”. The Exhibition, supported by all ASEAN Embassies in Tokyo, is held at the National Art Centre Tokyo and the Mori Art Museum, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN form 5 July through 23 October 2017.
On 3 July 2017, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Gen Thanasak Patimaprakorn presided over the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Thailand: Brilliant Land of the Buddha" at the National Museum of Tokyo. The event was attended by Ms. Chaweerat Kasetsoonton, Assistant Minister of Culture, H.E. Mr. Bansarn Bunnag, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, Mr. Itikom Pamarasoot, Admiral Deputy
On 29 July 2017, Miss Cataleya Phatoomros, Minister Counsellor gave a lecture on “Thailand-Japan relations : Old and Modern Partners” to Keio students at Keio University. The topic included 600 years of relations between two countries generated into three parts: Royal Family level, Governmental level, and People to People level.
During 28 June - 3 July 2017, members of the Election Committee of Thailand visited Japan to conduct study visits and to participate in briefings by the Japanese authorities concerned.
On 27 June, 2017 H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag, attended the Team Thailand Meeting. This meeting allowed Thai organizations in Japan including; The Thai Embassy, the BOI, Commercial, Agriculture, Industry, Labour, Education, the TAT, Finance and Military, to collect information and report on the activities of the Royal Thai Embassy and the current economic and political situation in Japan. In addition, Team Thailand's plan for the next period, was also discussed.
On 23rd June 2017, Singapore Ambassador to Japan Mr. Lui Tuck Yew paid a courtesy call on H.E Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag at the Royal Thai Embassy. Ambassador Yew has previously held important positions as the Commander in chief of the Naval forces and the Minister of Transport.
On June 21st 2017, H.E Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag and Madam Yupadee Bunnag presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai cooking class event for Japanese customers. This is one of the events held in the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Japan-Thailand diplomatic relations and its purpose is to create a positive image of Thailand and Thai products through media and food culture, which have been enjoyed by Japanese people. Currently there are 1,000 Thai restaurants in Japan.
On June 20th 2017, the Foreign Policy Manager, Mr. Yoshinori Kawamura and General Manager of Earth Chemical Co., Ltd Mr. Kenichi Sasaki paid a courtesy call on H.E Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag. They introduced the company’s products, such as mouthwash, non-toxic insecticides and fragrances for baths. The company has invested in Thailand under ARS Chemical (Thailand) since 1980, producing many kinds of products in Thailand and selling them in Japan
On 18thJune 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag, together with Mr. Dipong Nalinanon and Ms. Somjai Klaisuban, went to cheer for the 2 Thai boxers, Kaew and Kongnapa, who are both from the Weerasakreck Gym. They were competing in the 2017 K1 World Competition, which was held at the Saitama Super Arena.
On 12th June 2017, H.E. Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag welcomed the members of the senior executive program led by advisory of the civil service commission, Miss Sulakkhana Dhamanussati, on the occasion of visited Japan for observation. Furthermore, Thai - Japanese relation and development speech was given by Minister Counsellor, Miss Cataleya Phatoomros at the hall of the Royal Thai Embassy.
