Vice-Minister of Policy Coordination, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) pays a courtesy call on Ambassador

On 9 September 2020, Mr. YOSHIDA Mabito, Vice-Minister for Policy Coordination (International Affairs), Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun.  Their discussion focused on Thailand- Japan cooperation on 5G, cybersecurity, and smart city. Vice-Minister YOSHIDA was also seeking Thailand’s support for Japanesecandidaturefor the position of the next of Director General of Universal Postal Union (UPU).

Mr. KOBAYASHI Hideaki, Former Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, and Professor TATSUMA Toshiro meets with the Ambassador.

On 19August 2020, H.E. Mr. KOBAYASHI Hideaki, Former Ambassador of Japan to Thailand, and Mr. TATSUMA Toshiro, Visiting Professor at Shoin University and Advisor to Foreign Press Centre, met Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun. They have a fruitful discussion on ways to promote exchanges on education, medical field, media and local-to-local cooperation between Thailand and Japan.

Mie Governor pays a courtesy call on the Ambassador.

On 18 August 2020, Mr. SUZUKI Eikei, Governor of Mie Prefecture, together with his delegation and Mr. Noritada Mitsubayashi, the President and CEO of Yamamori Inc. – one of the key private companies operating in Mie, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun, and had lunch at the Ambassador’s Residence. The meeting is joined by officials from the economic agencies of the Team Thailand in Tokyo.

Ambassador Singtong participated in “The 299 th ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Virtual Meeting”

On 13 August 2020, Ambassador Singtong participated in “The 299th ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) Virtual Meeting” chaired by H.E. Mr. Myint Thu, Ambassador of Myanmar and Chair of the ACT. This is the first ACT meeting after Myanmar assumed the ACT Chairmanship in July 2020. Embracing the new normal amidst the ongoing COVID-19, this meeting was held through an online platform. During the Meeting, participating Ambassadors and representative shared information and exchanged views on the situation in respective countries while confirming close cooperation among ASEAN Embassies in Tokyo in efforts with regard to the COVID-19.

On 12 August 2020, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo organised the auspicious ceremony to celebrate the Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, at the Royal Thai Embassy’s Hall. The ceremony was presided over by Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun and attended by officials of the Team Thailand in Tokyo and their spouses. The attendees also took this opportunity to sign the congratulatory book on Her Majesty The Queen Mother's Birthday Anniversary.

Mayor of Misato City calls on Ambassador of Thailand

On 5 August 2020, Mr. MATSUTA Tomomi, Mayor of Misato Town, Akita Prefecture, called on Ambassador Singtong Lapisatepun to present a DVD recording messages of support and encouragement from Akita’s youthfor the Badminton Association of Thailand and schools in Nonthaburi Province.Misato Townis a host town for the Thai national badminton team to practice and familiarise themselves to Japan’s climate before competing in the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The Royal Thai Embassy facilitated the return of Thai people in Japan to Thailand by Japan Airline’s special flight.

On 5 August 2020, Thai people living in Japan returned to Thailand by Japan Airline (JAL) flight JL031 from Haneda Airport and arrived in Thailand at 15.40 hours.

On 31 July 2020, Thai people living in Japan returned to Thailand by All Nippon Airways (ANA) flight NH847 from Haneda Airport and arrived in Thailand at 15.30 hours.
