03.22 NHK Culture Center’s third visit to Thai Embassy

On 22 March 2012, 35 members from NHK Culture Center, Aoyama Branch, were welcomed by Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, and the embassy staff at the Residence.  After briefing about Thai Residence, Thai culture and Thailand-Japan relations, the audience watched a Thailand tourism DVD, Thai traditional dance and music performance.  The Embassy also prepared Thai cuisine and traditional handicraft for them to enjoy Thai uniqueness.

02.15 Dinner for Mr. Shozaburo Jimi and the delegates

On 15 February 2012, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul and spouse hosted the dinner for H.E.Dr. Shozaburo Jimi, State Minister for Postal Reform and Financial Services, his family, and other guests from Kita-Kyushu at the residence.

02.07 Koshigaya Chuou Junior High School visited the Embassy

On 7 February 2012, the students from Koshigaya Chuou Junior High School, Saitama prefecture, visited the Embassy to listen to the briefing about Thailand. Minister Singtong Lapisatepun also answered the questions from the students about Thai flood situation and other issues related to Thailand.

03.15 Thai Cooking Demonstration for WTT members

On 15 March 2012, Mme. Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, hosted a Thai Cooking Demonstration at the Thai Residence for 10 ladies of WTT members including Mme. Tazuko Okada, spouse of H.E.Mr. Takuya Okada, Deputy Prime Minister & Mme. Mikiko Gemba, spouse of H.E.Mr.Koichiro Gemba, Minister for Foreign Affair, in which she introduced how to preprae Thai dishes, such as Spicy Glass Noodles Salad with Seafood, Tom Yum Kung soup and Green Curry with Chicken to the participants.

02.20 Ambassadors meeting with JTBF

On 20 February 2012, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, hosted dinner for the members of the Japan-Thailand Business Forum (JTBF) led by Mr. Teisuke Kitayama, JTBF President and Chairman of Sumitomo Mitsui Bank.The JTBF, an alumni group of former Japanese executives in Thailand, reported to Ambassador the outcome of its mission to Thailand in January 2012, where they visited the BOI Fair and industrial estate sites.  They also attended a dinner hosted by H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand.Members of the Embassys economic team were also present at the meeting. On 20 February 2012, H.E. 02.16 New Year Buffet Reception in honour of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP)

On 16 February 2012, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi hosted a New Year Buffet Reception in honour of members of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of the LDP at the Thai Residence.  8 members including H.E. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister and the Advisor to the League, as well as Mr. Yasuhisa Shiozaki, President of the League, and Member of the House of Representatives, attended the Reception.

01.23 Dinner in honour of Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League

On 23rd January 2012, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul hosted a dinner in honour of Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. H.E. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, the former Prime Minister of Japan, is currently the President of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of DPJ.

02.23-24 ALFS members joined Thai North-eastern cuisine cooking class

During 23-24 February 2012, Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society members joined the Thai North-eastern cuisine cooking class at the Residence. Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, gave a briefing on Thailand’s North-eastern culture and tourist information and demonstrated how to cook the region’s food : Somtam (Spicy papaya salad) and Laab Kai (Chicken Laab).  Ten members of the society attended each day.  ▼ 23 February 2012 ▼  ▼ 24 February 2012 ▼

02.03 ALFS musical instrument introduction

On 3 February 2011, the Small Interest Group of the Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society, led by Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, organized an event called “Introduction to Asian musical instruments”.  Thai, Indonesian and Japanese musical instruments were introduced and performed in the event, where 40 members attended

02.07 Ambassador delivered welcome address at Believe in Thailand M.I.C.E. Road Show: Japan 2012

On 7th February 2012, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, gave welcoming remarks at the Believe in Thailand lunch hosted by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) at Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. The function was aimed at promoting the MICE facilities in Thailand as well as presenting Thailand as candidate for hosting the World Expo 2020. Almost a hundred Japanese business leaders and members of the mass media attended the event.Mr. Akapol Sorasuchart, President of TCEB, along with high ranking representatives from Thai authorities, including Bangkok Metropolitan Office, Chiang Mai Province, Pattaya City, Immigration Bureau, and Customs Department, were also present.On 7th February 2012, H.E.
