02.20 Ambassadors meeting with JTBF

On 20 February 2012, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, hosted dinner for the members of the Japan-Thailand Business Forum (JTBF) led by Mr. Teisuke Kitayama, JTBF President and Chairman of Sumitomo Mitsui Bank.The JTBF, an alumni group of former Japanese executives in Thailand, reported to Ambassador the outcome of its mission to Thailand in January 2012, where they visited the BOI Fair and industrial estate sites.  They also attended a dinner hosted by H.E. Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of Thailand.Members of the Embassys economic team were also present at the meeting. On 20 February 2012, H.E. 02.16 New Year Buffet Reception in honour of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan (LDP)

On 16 February 2012, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi hosted a New Year Buffet Reception in honour of members of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of the LDP at the Thai Residence.  8 members including H.E. Mr. Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister and the Advisor to the League, as well as Mr. Yasuhisa Shiozaki, President of the League, and Member of the House of Representatives, attended the Reception.

01.23 Dinner in honour of Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League

On 23rd January 2012, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul hosted a dinner in honour of Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. H.E. Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, the former Prime Minister of Japan, is currently the President of the Japan-Thailand Parliamentarians’ Friendship League of DPJ.

02.23-24 ALFS members joined Thai North-eastern cuisine cooking class

During 23-24 February 2012, Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society members joined the Thai North-eastern cuisine cooking class at the Residence. Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, gave a briefing on Thailand’s North-eastern culture and tourist information and demonstrated how to cook the region’s food : Somtam (Spicy papaya salad) and Laab Kai (Chicken Laab).  Ten members of the society attended each day.  ▼ 23 February 2012 ▼  ▼ 24 February 2012 ▼

02.03 ALFS musical instrument introduction

On 3 February 2011, the Small Interest Group of the Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society, led by Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, organized an event called “Introduction to Asian musical instruments”.  Thai, Indonesian and Japanese musical instruments were introduced and performed in the event, where 40 members attended

02.07 Ambassador delivered welcome address at Believe in Thailand M.I.C.E. Road Show: Japan 2012

On 7th February 2012, H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, gave welcoming remarks at the Believe in Thailand lunch hosted by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) at Imperial Hotel, Tokyo. The function was aimed at promoting the MICE facilities in Thailand as well as presenting Thailand as candidate for hosting the World Expo 2020. Almost a hundred Japanese business leaders and members of the mass media attended the event.Mr. Akapol Sorasuchart, President of TCEB, along with high ranking representatives from Thai authorities, including Bangkok Metropolitan Office, Chiang Mai Province, Pattaya City, Immigration Bureau, and Customs Department, were also present.On 7th February 2012, H.E. 02.22 NHK Culture Center’s second visit to Thai Embassy

On 22 February 2012, 40 members from NHK Culture Center, Aoyama Branch, were welcomed by Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, and the embassy staff at the Residence.  After briefing about Thai culture and Thailand-Japan relations, the audience watched a Thailand tourism DVD, Thai traditional dance. The Embassy also prepared Thai cuisine and traditional handicraft for them to enjoy Thai uniqueness.  

2.1 NHK Culture Center Visited Thai Embassy

On 1st February 2012, 40 members from NHK Culture Center, Aoyama Branch, were welcomed by Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, Ambassador’s spouse, and the embassy staff at the Residence.  After briefing about Thai culture and Thailand-Japan relations, the audience watched a Thailand tourism DVD, Thai traditional dance and music performance.  The Embassy also prepared Thai cuisine and traditional handicraft for them to enjoy Thai uniqueness.

1.30 Courtesy call by Chairman of MOA Museum of Art Culture Foundation and Director of Rangsit Science Center for Education, Thailand

ンOn 30th January 2012, Mr. Masao Shiga, Chairman of MOA Museum of Art Culture Foundation and Mr. Preecha Cheanchanokpibool, Director of Rangsit Science Center for Education, Ministry of Education of Thailand, accompanied Miss Premwadi Kaeokamkong, who received Japanese Foreign Minister’s Award at the MOA Children’s Exhibition, to visit H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul at the Embassy. The award ceremony of the said exhibition was held at MOA Museum of Art in Atami on 29 January 2012 with the attendance of Minister Singtong Lapisatepun as the representative from the Royal Thai Embassy.

01.17 ASEAN Ambassadors’ Farewell Dinner in honour of Ambassadors of Singapore and Laos

On 17th January 2012, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul hosted a farewell dinner in honour of H.E. Ambassador Tan Chin Tiong from Singapore and H.E. Ambassador Sithong Chitnhothinh from Laos at the Residence.  Ambassadors or Charge’d Affaires and their spouses from ASEAN member countries attended the dinner.
