Ceremony on Her Majesty Queen Sirikit ’s Birthday (Mother’s Day)

On 12 August 2011, the Ambassador and his spouse led the officers from the Embassy and other Thai government agencies in Tokyo to celebrateHer MajestyQueen Sirikit’s 79th anniversary birthday at Wat Pak Nam Japan in Chiba Prefecture.Buddhist ceremony was held to make merit for Her Majesty the Queen, followed by the Ambassador’s blessing speech.  

Lady Friends of Thailand Fellowship

On 5 August 2011, Mme Aumaporn Futrakul hosted a luncheon for 17 wives who experienced staying in Thailand during the time when their Japanese husbands were positioned there. On this occasion, Madame proposed the establishment of “Lady Friends of Thailand Fellowship”.  

Primary school students visited the Residence

On 16 August 2011, Mme Aumaporn Futrakul, the ambassadors spouse, and the Embassy officers gave a lecture on Thailand andThai culture to 12 primary school students and their parents.Their visit to the Residence was a part of Foreign Culture Studies Program for the 3rd Children’s International Speech Contest candidates.The contest will be held on 28 August 2011 at Ebisu Garden Place.  

New prime ministers speech following appointment

On 2 Aug. 2011, the Ambassador and Madame hosted a farewell lunch in honour of Mr. & Mme. Setsuo Iuchi,the new President of JETRO Bangkok.  Mr. Haruhiko Ozasa, Planning Dept. of JETRO,and the Heads of the Embassy’s Commercial, Economic and Investment, and Industrial Offices also attended.

On 29 Jul. 2011, the Ambassador hosted a lunch in honour of Rear Admiral Granivut Vattanatham, General Director of the Naval Intelligence Dept., Royal Thai Navy, at the Residence.

On 28 Jul. 2011, the Ambassador and Madame hosted a lunch in honour of Mr. & Mme. Takayasu Miwa,Royal Thai Honorary Consul-General, Nagoya and Chairman of Kowa Co., Ltd., at the Residence.Other guests were Mr. Yoshihiro Miwa, President of Kowa Co. and Mr. Naoshi Murai, Honorary Vice-Consul of Nagoya.

2011年8月5日、ウマポーン・フートラクーン大使夫人は、タイに滞在経験のある夫人17名との昼食会をおこないました。 大使夫人は「Lady Friends of Thailand Fellowship」 の創設を提案しました。                                                                      

JTA Evening Cool Party 2011

On 29 July 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul, together with officers from the embassy and other Thai government offices in Japan, joined the “JTA Evening Cool Party 2011” jointly-organized by Japan-Thailand Association and the Royal Thai Embassy at Marunouchi Club.  The Ambassador gave an opening speech, mentioning great friendship between the two countries and the importance of strengthening such relationship.Events organized by the embassy such as Muaythai on 7 August, Thai puppet show on 6 September, Thai Festival in October, and National Day in December, were introduced. Embassy officers also performed Thai traditional music at the event.   

Japan International Seafood & Technology Expo 2011 TOKYO

On 27 July 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul attended the 13th Japan International Seafood & Technology Expo Tokyoat Tokyo Big Sight, where Thailand’s Office of Agricultural Affairs in Japan held a booth. Mr. Chalermporn Phirunsarn, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, also joined the booth opening.
