On 16 December 2011, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul and spouse hosted a dinner for H.E. Dr. Plodprasop Suraswadi, Minister of Science and Technology of Thailand, and his delegation who visited Japan to attend the 12th Forum for Nuclear Cooperation in Asia (FNCA) at the Residence.
On 9 December 2011, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul delivered opening remarks at the Japan-Thailand Reconstruction Cooperation Seminar - Current Situation of Flooding in Thailand and Marketing Strategy of Japanese Company organised by JETRO at JETRO Exhibition Hall in Tokyo. Over 300 participants from Japanese business sector and mass media attended the seminar. Speakers also included Mr. Hiroaki Isobe, Executive Vice President of JETRO, and Mr. Setsuo Iuchi, President of JETRO Bangkok. The Thai Ambassador ensured the business sector in Japan of the Thai Governments concrete plan to reinforce and install protection of all industrial estates in the country against 100-years-cycle of rainfall by August 2012, along with other medium and long term measures to be taken.
On 9 December 2011, Mrs. Panit Nitithanprapas, Chief Ombudsman, and her delegation paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul at the Ambassador’s Residence.
On 8 December 2011, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul hosted a dinner in honour for members of the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) at the Residence. Special guests included Mr. Masayuki Naoshima, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Mr. Tatsuo Hirano, Minister of State for Disaster Management, Mr. Chiaki Takahashi, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), business leaders and artists from various fields. Minister, Commercial Minister and Industrial Minister Counsellor of the Royal Thai Embassy also were present.
On 7 December 2011, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul and his spouse hosted a dinner at the Residence for H.E. Mr. Padermchai Sasomsap, Minister of Labour, and his delegation, who visited Japan to participate in the International Labour Organization (ILO)’s 15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting on 5-6 December 2011.
On 5 December 2011, H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul, presided over the ceremony to present to Mr. Takayasu Miwa, Royal Thai Honorary Consul-General in Nagoya, the Knight Grand Cross (First Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand. The Royal Decoration was bestowed by His Majesty the King upon Mr. Miwa who had been working on behalf of the Thai government for 51 years.
On 5 December 2011, Mr. Takekazu Kawamura, Imperial Palace’s Grand Master of the Ceremonies, delivered a congratulatory blessing message from His Majesty the Emperor of Japan to His Majesty the King on His Majesty’s 84th Birthday Anniversary at the Ambassador’s Residence.
On 5 December 2011, Mr. Hideo Yamakuchi, CEO of Orimoto Yamakuchi Co.Ltd., Yamagata prefecture, presented to H.E. Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul His Majesty the King machine-woven tapestry, to celebrate His Majesty’s 84th Birthday Anniversary. The tapestry is original, both in terms of hi-tech digital technology and its high-resolution portrait of His Majesty the King.
