This occasion is indeed the highest honour and greatest blessing for my life. My family and I are overwhelmingly grateful for His Majestys kindness and trust in appointing me to serve under royal command, as well as to administer the government, to serve His Majesty, the country, and the people. His Majestys greatest kindness today is a powerful inspiration to my life, which I will forever hold high with loyalty, dedication, and determination to give back to my homeland and forever bring about the highest benefits for the country and the people.Most importantly, on the most auspicious and meaningful occasions that His Majesty will reach the 7th cycle, or the 84th birthday anniversary in December, and on Her Majesty the Queens birthday anniversary on August 12, I call upon all Thais to jointly offer Their Majesties the best wishes to express our gratitude for their blessing to us all.I wish to thank all Thais, members of the

On 2 Aug. 2011, the Ambassador and Madame hosted a farewell lunch in honour of Mr. & Mme. Setsuo Iuchi,the new President of JETRO Bangkok.  Mr. Haruhiko Ozasa, Planning Dept. of JETRO,and the Heads of the Embassy’s Commercial, Economic and Investment, and Industrial Offices also attended.

On 28 Jul. 2011, the Ambassador and Madame hosted a lunch in honour of Mr. & Mme. Takayasu Miwa,Royal Thai Honorary Consul-General, Nagoya and Chairman of Kowa Co., Ltd., at the Residence.Other guests were Mr. Yoshihiro Miwa, President of Kowa Co. and Mr. Naoshi Murai, Honorary Vice-Consul of Nagoya.  

Lady Friends of Thailand Fellowship

2011年8月5日、ウマポーン・フートラクーン大使夫人は、タイに滞在経験のある夫人17名との昼食会をおこないました。 大使夫人は「Lady Friends of Thailand Fellowship」 の創設を提案しました。                                                                      

JTA Evening Cool Party 2011

On 29 July 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul, together with officers from the embassy and other Thai government offices in Japan, joined the “JTA Evening Cool Party 2011” jointly-organized by Japan-Thailand Association and the Royal Thai Embassy at Marunouchi Club.  The Ambassador gave an opening speech, mentioning great friendship between the two countries and the importance of strengthening such relationship.Events organized by the embassy such as Muaythai on 7 August, Thai puppet show on 6 September, Thai Festival in October, and National Day in December, were introduced. Embassy officers also performed Thai traditional music at the event.   

Japan International Seafood & Technology Expo 2011 TOKYO

On 27 July 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul attended the 13th Japan International Seafood & Technology Expo Tokyoat Tokyo Big Sight, where Thailand’s Office of Agricultural Affairs in Japan held a booth. Mr. Chalermporn Phirunsarn, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, also joined the booth opening.      

ACT Bowling Tournament 2011

On 23 July 2010, the Ambassador and his wife, together with the embassy’s officers joined ASEAN’s annual bowling game in Tokyo.

Thailand won championship in Saitama International Junior Football Tournament 2011

On 24 July 2011, Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul and his wife, together with Minister Singtong Lapisatepun supported 12-year-old Thai youth football team at the Saitama International Junior Football Tournament 2011 final. Warm hospitality was given by Mr. Osamu Shiokawa, Saitama Vice-governor. After the match, the Ambassador and his wife, and the Minister joined a dinner with the Thai football team. This year Thailand (yellow) won 7-6 over Japan (blue) by free kicks.

JTBF’s annual meeting and reception

On 21 July 2011, Mr. Teisuke Kitayama, President of Japan-Thai Business Forum(JTBF) and Chairman of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, called for the annual meeting and reception of year 2011 at Sumitomo Kaikan Building to discuss with members about activities to promote Thailand.Ambassador Virasakdi Futrakul and the embassy officers attended the event.
