Thailand to Japan, hosted a lunch for Dr. Hiroto Izumi, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister (Economics Affairs), Mr. Tadashi Maeda, Senior Managing Director of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Mr. Shigeru Kiyama, Vice President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Mr. Kimihiro Ishikane, Director-General, International Cooperation Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan at the Royal Thai Residence. On this occasion, they discussed several issues such as the economic cooperation, infrastructure, railway system and Dawei economic special zone etc.

At the opening, the Ambassador, along with Mr. Teisuke Kitayama, the President of Japan Thailand Association and Mr. Takio Yamada, Director-General, Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, gave the welcome speeches and remarks.  As many as 250 guests were also entertained by the Thai classical music performance by the Embassy’s staff, the DVD about Thailand and various kinds of Thai Food.

2013.10.18 Ambassador Thanatip attended the 5th Japan-Thailand Political Partnership Consultations

On 18 October 2013, Ambassador Thanatip Upatising joined the Thai delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, attending the 5th Japan-Thailand Political Partnership Consultaions (JTPPC) held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Tokyo.  At the JTPPC, overall bilateral issues were discussed.

Ambassador presented copy of Letter of Credence

On 12 March, 2015, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow paid a visit to Mr. Jun Yamazaki, the Chief of Protocol and presented copy of Letter Credence to Mr. Akitaka Saiki, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The Ambassador has an agenda to present the Letter of Credence to the Emperor of Japan later in order to appoint him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to strengthen the relationships between Thai and Japan.

On 17 December 2018, Ms. Dheerangkun Uchino, First Secretary, attended the Jenesys 2018 workshop “Exchange for Science and Technology” as guests of honour with Mr. Yasutaka Fukahori, Director of Friendship Ties Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The participants of this exchange programme were students from Thailand and Singapore. They were sponsored by the Japanese governments to come to Japan to learn the innovation and technology as well as experienced Japanese culture for one week. 2014.05.09 Thai foreign-service official received MOFA Japanese Language Program completion certificate

On 9 May 2014, Ms. Piyavan Rakpanich, a Thai foreign-service official, received a certificate after her 8-month-completion of the Japanese Language Program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Japan Foundation.  The program was to train foreign-service officers in practical Japanese language, culture and Japanese society, including Japan’s foreign policy.
