Among its potential projects is Dawei Special Economic Zone, which Thailand and Myanmar governments signed an agreement to co-develop in July 2012 with three level working mechanisms. On 18 – 19 July 2018, Ambassador Bansarn Bunnag accompanied the delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak to visit Mie Prefecture in order to strengthen the cooperation between Thailand and Japanese locals.
