During 12-13 February 2014, Ambassador Thanatip Upatising officially visited Okayama for the first time.  He met with Mr. Ryuta Ibaragi, Okayama Governor.  Both agreed upon close cooperation on trade, investment and tourism.... ... this occasion, Ambassador also met with Mr. Shogo Ibaragi, President of Tenyama Co., Ltd.  He thanked the firm for party invitation and discussed on the potential of future co-promotion of other Thai products besides jewelry.

2014.01.28 Ambassador’s special lecture on SME in SMRJ’s Thai Business Seminar

... cooperation was made among SMRJ, Ministry of Industry of Thailand and the Royal Thai Embassy. 450 participants included over 150 Japanese SMEs.  The Ambassador gave a 40-minute-special lecture on Thai and Japanese SMEs’ roles in Thai economy.  At the same time, Mr. Hiroshi Takada, SMRJ President and Mr. Toshiyuki Yokota, Deputy Director of SME Agency, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, and representatives from the Ministry of Industry of Thailand and Mizuho Bank, also shared detail on attractiveness of investment and business management in Thailand.

The Royal Kathina Presentation Ceremony at Wat Paknam Japan

2014.06.14-15 10th Thai Festival in Nagoya

This year, the Royal Thai Embassy displayed Thai herbs and spices, which play important roles in Thai cuisine, while introducing their usage in other areas such as spa, beauty and other daily products. At the same time, the Embassy arranged consular services for Thai community in Aichi Prefecture and nearby to provide services on passport, legal documents and living guidance.  The Office of Labour Affairs also assisted in consultation on working in Japan. The festival showcased Thai food and products, including Thailand promotion by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International.

2013.11.16 Royal Thai Army Band joined Japan Self-Defense Forces Marching Festival 2013

... applause from the audience. Japan Self-Defense Forces Marching Festival is held annually and is open for general public.  In the past, only marches from Japan Self-Defense Forces and US Forces based in Japan participated.  This year was the first time that the Royal Thai Army Band joined the event, as the representative of ASEAN countries to commemorate the 40 th anniversary of ASEAN-Japan relations.
