On 3 September 2021, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, led the Thai delegation to pay a courtesy call on Mr. Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) at the Grand Nikko Daiba, Tokyo. Ambassador Singtong informed Mr. Parsons that he was inspired by Mr.Parsons’ speech at the Tokyo Paralympic Opening Ceremony on #WeThe15 Movement that promotes an inclusive world. Currently 15 percent of the global population is the people with disabilities.
Mr. Parsons congratulated the Thai team for winning several medals at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. The new world record by the Thai wheelchair racing athlete has shown the world how strong the Thai team is.
The Thai delegation who participated in the said meeting included KhunyingPatama Leeswadtrakul, who is an IOC member from Thailand, the Deputy President of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the President of the Badminton Association of Thailand, Mr. Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), Lieutenant General Issara Vacharaprateep, Advisor to SAT Governor, Major General Osoth Bhavilai, Chef de Mission of the Thai Paralympic team and Mr. Kittipong Potimoo, Deputy Chef de Mission.
