Executives from JR Freight paid a courtesy call on the Thai Ambassador

On 22 September2021, JR Freight’s executives from the Overseas Business Department, Mr. NISHIMURA Koji, (Senior) General Manager, Mr. KUSAMA Yukihiro, General Manager and Mr. MIYAGUCHI Makito, Senior Manager, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, after the recent opening of the Bangkok Representative Office of JR Freight on 2 September 2021. The said office is the ASEAN regional centre and JR Freight’s first overseas representative office.
On this occasion, both sides discussed the cooperation between Thailand and JR Freight on rail freight transportation. Recently, JR Freight worked with Thailand on exchanging knowledge of transporting LNG, which is classified as dangerous goods, by rail. JR Freight's role corresponds not only to Thailand’s National Strategies on infrastructure and logistics development, but also to BCG model which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
