Ambassador presented Thailand-Japan Friendship Cup to Sumo Champion Yokozuna TERUNOFUJI

On 26 September 2021, H.E. Mr.Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand attended the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament 2021 at Tokyo’s Ryogoku Kokugikan and presented the Thailand-Japan Friendship Cup to the tournament champion Yokozuna TERUNOFUJI.

The presentation of the Thailand-Japan Friendship Cup to the winner of Grand Sumo Tournaments held in Tokyo started in 2017 when Thailand and Japan celebrated their 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The final day of the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament 2021 on 26 September 2021 fell on the same day as the 134^th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Thailand and Japan.

Besides Thailand, Ambassadors and representatives from other 7 countries also attended the Tournament to present certificates and trophies to the Champion, namely Hungary, Mongolia, Bulgaria, United Arab Emirates, France, the Czech Republic, and Mexico.
