Ambassador and Team Thailand met with the Executives of Toyota Motor Corporation

On 22 October 2021, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun - Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, Mr. Krit Tankanarat - Consul-General of Thailand to Osaka, together with Ms. Kanokporn Chotipal - Minister (Economic and Investment), Mr. Baworn Sattayawuthiphong - Minister Counsellor (Industry), and the officials from the Royal Thai Embassy and the Consulate-General visited the head office of Toyota Motor Corporation in Toyota city, Aichi prefecture. The Thai delegation met with the executives of Toyota Motor Corporation led by Mr. SHIMAZAKI Yutaka, External & Public Affairs Group (Fellow) and Mr. HASHIMOTO Yoshiki, Manager of the EHV Battery Design Division. The purpose of the visit is to keep abreast of Toyota’s electric vehicle innovation and discussed the cooperation plan with Thailand. 

In their friendly discussion, both sides sought to strengthen cooperation in electrical vehicles (EVs)between Thailand and Japan as promoting EVs is in mutual interest of the two countries. The EVs revolution is consistent with Japan’s Green Growth Strategy and Thailand’s BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) Economy Model as well as EEC targeted industries. Both sides also stressed the importance of harnessing partnership to ensure a smooth transition to a whole EV supply chain to further strengthen Japan’s automotive industry base in Thailand.
