Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission attended the 306th Meeting of ASEAN Committee in Tokyo at the Embassy of Singapore in Tokyo

On 22 October 2021, ASEAN Ambassadors and representatives attended the 306^th Meeting of ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) chaired by H.E. Mr. Peter Tan, Ambassador of Singapore to Japan. Ms. Prangtip Kanchanahattakij, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, participated on behalf of H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan.

With the improved situation of the COVID-19 pandemic across Japan, it was the first in-person ACT Meeting since February 2020. During the Meeting, the Ambassadors and representatives exchanged views on topics such as the COVID-19 situation in Japan, border measures of respective ASEAN countries, Japanese political affairs as well as regional issues, among others. On this occasion, ASEAN Ambassadors and representatives presented plaques to bid farewell to H.E. Mr. Ung Rachana, Ambassador of Cambodia to Japan, and H.E. Dato’ Kennedy Jawan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Japan who are scheduled to complete their assignments in Japan in November.
