Ambassador welcomes delegates from Aomori Prefecture and local agencies related to Aomori apples.

On 13 December 2021, representatives from Aomori Prefecture and local agencies related to Aomori apples paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan to present Aomori apples, which is popular among the Thai people, to the Embassy. Mr.Somsak Vivithkeyoonvong, Minister Counsellor (Agriculture), Head of Office of Agricultural Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo, also attended this cordial meeting.

The Ambassador and the delegation also exchanged opinions on Aomori Prefecture’s trade promotion activity in Thailand, travel measures and people-to-people relations which help facilitate the expansion of Aomori apple export to Thailand, as well as Thai tropical fruit export to Japan. Thailand is the third largest market, after Taiwan and Hong Kong, for exporting of Aomori apples, with a total of 753 tons in 2020.
