A member of the Niigata Prefectural Assembly and Niigata Prefectural Government paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of Thailand to Japan

Mr. MIYAZAKI Etsuo, a member of the Niigata Prefectural Assembly, together with representatives from the International Affairs Department of Niigata Prefectural Government, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong LAPISATEPUN, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan.

On this occasion, the delegates explained about the “World Nishikigoi Summit” which is scheduled to be held on 6 November 2022 at Toki Messe International Conference Center in Niigata Prefecture, the birthplace of colorful nishikigoi carp.

The World Nishikogoi Summit is organized to promote export of nishikigoi and establish healthy carp culture while furthering developments of the nishikigoi industry. It is hoped that the Summit will play a significant part in further promoting the international economic and cultural exchange through nishikigoi.

Ambassador Singtong reiterated the close relationship between Thailand and Niigata Prefecture. He also expressed his readiness to render support to the said event.
