Ambassador attended the 10th Thai Festival in Sendai.

On 25 June 2022 H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, attended the 10^th Thai Festival in Sendai and expressed his appreciation to the Organising Committee for realising the festival, which is a symbol of close friendship between Thailand and Sendai.

The Festival was held on 25-26 June 2022 at Sendai Civic Square, Kotodai Parkwith a total of20Thai restaurants and shops selling Thai products. At least 20,000 visitors participated in the 2-day festival. The Office of Agricultural Affairs and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tokyo Office, also set up booths to promote Thai mangoes and Thai fruits, as well as tourism to Thailand.

Before that on 24 June 2022, Ambassador attended the Thai Festival in Sendai reception at Palace Heian event hall. The Embassy and the Organising Committee took the opportunity to build networks and exchange opinions to further promote Thailand-Sendai relations. The reception was also attended by Ms. Kohri Kazuko, Mayor of Sendai City, and Ms. SUZUKI Miki, Chairperson of the 10^th Thai Festival in Sendai 2022.

Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Organising Committee and Sendai City for supporting the Thai Festival in Sendai, which is one of the very few Thai Festivals that are supported by local governments. Ambassador reiterated his readiness to cooperate with Sendai City and the Organising Committee for the continuation of the Festival in the future.
