Ambassador attended the opening ceremony of the Thai Festival in Fukuoka 2022

On 26 August 2022, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, attended the opening ceremony of the Thai Festival in Fukuoka 2022, which was organized by the Consulate-General in Fukuoka at Tenjin Chuo Park, under the theme of “Sanook Night” or "Fun Night".

Mrs.Yupha Taweewattanakitborvon, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Mr. Sorut Sukthaworn, Consul-General of Thailand in Fukuoka, also attended said event. Other Japanese representatives attending the opening ceremony were Mr. EGUCHI Masaru, Vice Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, and Mr. NIEDA Genki, Vice Chairman of the Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly and President of Fukuoka Prefectural Assembly Association for the Friendship between Japan and Thailand.

The Thai Festival in Fukuoka was held from 26 - 28 August 2022. Sanook Night was able to attract many visitors to enjoy Thai food, Thai culture and Thai products in a fun atmosphere at night under COVID-19 preventive measures. The participants were not only from Fukuoka Prefecture, but also from other prefectures in Kyushu region as this Thai festive vibes was the first time in 3 years, due to the COVID-19 situation.

The Ministry of Culture of Thailand also sent a contemporary Thai music band and a traditional Thai puppet show from Joe Louis Theatre to perform at the event.
