The Embassy promoted Thai culture at the Thai Festival at the Aeon Mall MakuhariShintoshin

The Royal Thai Embassy joined hands with Aeon Mall in promoting Thai culture at the Thai Festival at Aeon Mall MakuhariShintoshin during 23 – 25 September 2022.

At the event, the first Thai Festival ever held at the mall, visitors could enjoy Thai food, Thai products, and avariety of Thai culture, including umbrella-painting and flower garlandworkshops,Thai cultural dance and Thai musical instrument performances bystudents of Kanda University of International Studies. The event also offeredfree TukTukride attraction where people could take a short tour on TukTukaround the mall. At least 30,000 people participated in the event.

The Embassy in cooperation with WeerasakreckFairtexMuaythai Gym presentedMuaythaifor 3 straight days. Visitors at the Embassy’s booth could enjoy a Muaythai demonstration activity and take part in a Muaythai punching and kicking workshop as well asa fan signing event with Muaythai champions. On the last day of the event, an amateur Muaythai boxing tournament was also held, participated by 218 amateur boxers – 86 junior and 132 adults.

At the same event, Thai tourism, Thai drama and T-pop or Thai pop music were presented to the Japanese public.

At the opening ceremony on 23 September 2022, H.E. Mr.Singtong LAPISATEPUN, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, was honored to deliver remarkstogether with Mr. ANAZAWA Yukiko, Vice Governor of Chiba Prefecture, Mr. OKI Masato, Vice Mayor of Chiba City, and Mr.OKAZAKI Soichi, Executive Officer of Aeon Mall (ASEAN region).

The Embassy would like to express our sincere thanks to Aeon Mall MakuhariShintoshin for this initiative to promote Thailand-Japan friendship and amicable relations. The event was organised on the same period with the 135th Anniversary of Thailand-Japan diplomatic relationship on 26 September 2022.

The Embassy also would like to thank Weerasakreck Fairtex Muaythai Gym for closely working together with the Embassy to promote MuayThai in the event. Thanks to the gym’s kind cooperation, the Embassy’ booth received overwhelming attention from a great number of Japanese public, both male and female of all ages.
