Ambassador held discussion with Chairman of Yamamori Inc.

 On 30 September 2022, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, hosted a luncheon in honour of Mr. MITSUBAYASHI Noritada, Chairman of Yamamori, and his family members. The friendly lunch was held to express appreciation towards Friends of Thailand who have an outstanding role in promoting Thai food in the Japanese market.

 On this occasion, Mr. MITSUBAYASHI presented Thai vegetables grown in Mie Prefecture to the Ambassador. Thecompany is working with the prefecture and JA Miekita to revive local agricultural sector by growing certain kinds of Thai vegetables. Mr. MITSUBAYASHI envisages that this project will further promote awareness of Thai food among Japanese people. In addition, Yamamori has also played a role in developing human resources in Thailand. To date the company has accepted 3 batches of approximately 30 Thai technical trainees in total. After completing the training in Japan, the trainees will have the potential to hold supervising positions in Yamamori’s factory in Thailand which mainly produces Thai food and seasoning sauces.
