Ambassador held a discussion with President of Banpu Japan

On 6 October 2022, Mr. IDO Mitsuo, President of Banpu Japan, and his delegation met with H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, to introduce the company’s business in the Aizu Wakamatsu Branch, Fukushima Prefecture. The branch does not engage only in the energy production but also extend its business into the smart city projects, for example, the largest solar carport and AI electric vehicle charging station and so on.

Both sides also exchanged information about the 4th ASEAN-Japan Smart City Network High-Level Meeting in Fukushima this December whereby high-level representatives from Thailand will be invited. They also discussed a diplomatic field trip in Fukushima in November, which will be organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The trip will also include the visit to Smart City AiCT where Banpu Japan's office is located.
