Ambassador attended the World Specialty Coffee Welcome Party

On 12 October 2022, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, and Mr. Sakon Wanasethi, Acting Director of the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Tokyo, attended the World Specialty Coffee Welcome Party, which is part of the World Specialt yCoffee Conference and Exhibition 2022. The event was held by the Specialty Coffee Association of Japan at Villa Fontaine Grand Ariake Hotel.

Professor Emeritus Pongsak Angasit, Director of the Royal Project Foundation, briefed Ambassador about the Royal Project Foundation's booth at the exhibition. The exhibition by the Royal Project Foundation introduced specialty coffee from Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Son in Thailand and attracted great interest from the participants. At least three Japanese companies have already expressed their intention to import the Thai specialty coffee.

The World Specialty Coffee Conference and Exhibition is the largest exhibition of coffee products in Asia. The event was held for the first time in 3 years due to covid- 19 situation. As many as 235 companies and organizations joined the exhibition and there were approximately 40,000 participants from Japan and abroad, which is an unprecedented number.
