On 11 October2022, Mr. Sakon Wanasethi, Acting Director of the Office of Agricultural Affairs in Tokyo, along with Mr. KUBOTERA Shota, staff of International Cooperation Department of Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC), led the 39th batch of11 Thai Agricultural Youths to pay a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, as a ceremonial closure of the program me before returning to Thailand.
The Ambassador extended congratulations to the Thai Agricultural Youths for finishing their training despite many challenges and hoped that they would bring back the strengths and techniques of Japanese agriculture to further develop the country and their family’s farms. The Ambassador also thanked JAEC for providing the opportunity for Thai youths to have a practical training in Japan. The Ambassador enjoyed conversation with the Thai Agricultural Youths who shared their experiences. Many of them have learned various aspects about Japanese agriculture, especially patience and paying attention to details.
The 11 Thai Agricultural Youths were dispersed in seven prefectures in Japan, learning how to grow certain types of vegetables, fruits (oranges and strawberries), and rice. They lived with the families who used to host their predecessors.
