On 8 and 9 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, and Mrs. Porndee Lapisatepun, spouse of the Ambassador, hosted a dinner and a congratulatory reception, consecutively, for Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, former Minister of Tourism & Sports, and Professor Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak, Advisor of Thailand Institute of Justice, on the occasion of being bestowed the Decoration “The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star” in 2022 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals from the Emperor of Japan.

This year, there are three Thai nationals who have been bestowed the Decoration "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star”, namely: (1) Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Former Minister Ministry of Tourism and Sports who has been contributed to strengthening bilateral relations between Japan and Thailand in the field of tourism and sports, (2) Professor Dr. Kittipong Kittayarak, Advisor to the Thailand Institute of Justice who has been contributed to strengthening relations between Japan and Thailand in the field of justice, and (3) Mr. Kalin Sarasin, Chairman of Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand who has been contributed to strengthening economic relations between Japan and Thailand. In addition, Dr. Chai Nimakorn, Former President of the Association of the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth of Thailand, has been bestowed "Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Ray” for his contribution to promoting youth exchanges and friendship between Japan, Thailand and the other ASEAN Member States.
