On 9 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, welcomed Ms. Tansita Akrarittipirom, Head of Commercial, AirAsia Thailand, and AirAsia Thailand delegation, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

Ambassador expressed his appreciation to AirAsia Thailand for its continued support for the Embassy’s activities, such as the Thai Festival in Tokyo at Yoyogi Park and the Online Thai Festival in Japan earlier this year. AirAsia Thailand also provides two complementary tickets for the 15th Thai Speech Contest to be organised by Kanda University of International Studies on 17 December 2022, which the Embassy also renders its support in order to promote language and cultural exchanges between Thailand and Japan.

Ambassador welcomed the resumption of direct flight operations between Thailand and Japan, including those to Narita, Osaka, Fukuoka and Hokkaido, by AirAsia Thailand and AirAsia X. The flight to Shin Chitose Airport, Hokkaido, will resume in January next year onwards. The direct flights will promote exchanges and friendship between Thailand and Japan even further.
