The Embassy supported the Thai National Para Badminton Team in Hulic Daihatsu BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022

The Royal Thai Embassy gave strong support to the Thai National Para Badminton Team who visited Japan to compete in Hulic Daihatsu BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2022 at Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo during 1-6 November 2022.

The Thai Team won a total of one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Mr. Natthapong MEECHAI, partnering with Korean LEE Daesung, won the gold medal in the SH6 men’s double category and became the world's youngest para badminton gold medalist. Mr. Siripong TEAMARROM and Ms. Nipada SAENSUPA won silver medal in SL 3 - SU 5 Mixed Double. Ms. Nipada SAENSUPA also won her bronze medal with Ms. Chanida SRINAVAKUL in Women’s Double’s SL 3 - SU 5 category. Ms. Chai SAEYANG, partnering with Ms. Latatai Parmeshwar Umrekar from India, also won a bronze in SH 6 Women’s Double.

Mr. Romdej Phisalaphong, Minister-Counselor, Ms. Wichulee Chotbenjakul, Counselor, and the Embassy’s staff represented the Embassy at various games and gave a strong support to the Thai National Para badminton athletes. The Embassy also supports the Thai players by providing Thai food bentos to the team.
