On 26 October 2022, Mrs. NAKANO Y. Etsuko, President of the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA), paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, to inform the Ambassador on the progress of OISCA’s activities in Thailand.
In 2022, OISCA organizes different types of reforestation activities in Thailand and educates youth and Thai farmers on nature conservation. An Eco-Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) project, including educating local Thai people on reforestation to prevent natural disasters, was conducted in Surin, Chiang Rai, and Ranong provinces.
The project in Chiang Rai province also provides training on pig and mushroom farming, and beekeeping, which helps create jobs and income for the local community. Mangrove conservation project was conducted in three islands in Ranong province. The project also supports the production of One Tambon One Product (OTOP), such as shrimp paste, soap, tea, and herbal inhaler, in the community.
OISCA started its activities in Thailand in 1975. Its head office is in Bangkok and the branch offices are in Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, and Ayutthaya Provinces.
