On 2 November 2022, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapidatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, attended the annual meeting of the Akita-Thailand Friendship Association and gave lectures about Thailand to members of the Association.

In addition, the Ambassador met with Mr. KIKUCHI Hisao, President of the Akita Association in Thailand and members of the Akita-Thailand Friendship Association, who promoted cooperation in various fields between Akita Province and Thailand, such as cooperation between Kasikorn Bank and Bank Hokuto Cooperation in education and sports, including badminton (with Misato City) and Boccia (with Odate City).

The Ambassador and Mr. KIKUCHI agreed to have a closer exchange and believe that after this, more Thai tourists will travel to Akita Prefecture after Japan relaxes the entry restrictions from October 11, 2022 onwards.

After that, the ambassador attended a dinner for members of the Akita-Thailand Friendship Association. Mr. ISHII Tadanari, the president of the Association, was pleased to organize the Association's meeting for the first time in three years and wishes to strengthen cooperation with Thailand in tourism, education, sports, medical exchanges and cooperation between Hokuto Bank and Kasikorn Bank.
