Ambassador attended the opening ceremony of the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Sapporo

On 20 January2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, attended the opening ceremony of the Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Sapporo. More than 80 guests attended this event. In addition, the Ambassador also attended the luncheon on the occasion of opening ceremony with the attendance of high-level representatives from public and private sectors in Hokkaido Prefecture namely (1) Mr. SUZUKI Naomichi, Governor of Hokkaido (2) Mr. AKIMOTO Katsuhiro, Mayor of Sapporo City (3) Mr. EBINA Hiroya Mayor of Kushiro City and (4) Mr. YASUDA Mitsuharu, President of Hokuyo Bank, as well as a representative of Thai volunteers in Hokkaido.

The Ambassador gave the opening remarks on the pivotal role of Thai Honorary Consulate in protecting Thailand’s interests and promoting relationship between Thailand and Hokkaido.

During the visit, the Ambassador also had a meeting with Mr. TSUCHIYA Shunsuke, Vice Governor of Hokkaido, Mr. MACHIDA Takatoshi, Vice Mayor of Sapporo and Mr. IWATA Keigou, President of Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry to introduce Mr. ARAI Isao, Royal Thai Honorary Consul in Sapporo as well as seeking supports for cooperation between Thailand and Hokkaido in various fields, especially economic and tourism sectors which have high potentials.
