Ambassador participated in the Setsubun Festival at Narita-san Temple

On 3 February 2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, and spouse, together with Ms. Prangtip Kanchanahattakij, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission, attended the Setsubun festival, also known as bean-throwing festival, at Narita-san Shinshoji Temple, Chiba Prefecture. A number of renowned people attended the festival including sumo wrestlers, celebrities, and foreign diplomats.

Setsubun is a traditional Japanese festival celebrating the beginning of spring. Rituals are held on this day to drive away evil spirits and welcome good fortune. The Setsubun festival is annually held on the day before the beginning of spring according to the Japanese lunar calendar.
