Ambassador attended the meeting with the Saitama-Thailand Friendship Association


On 10 February 2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, participated in a meeting with the members of Saitama-Thailand Friendship Association at the Omiya Palace Hotel, Saitama prefecture. The Ambassador delivered an opening remarks and gave a briefing on “the Opportunity of Thailand’s BCG Economy Model”. This is the first meeting between the Embassy and the Association in three years as it was suspended due to Covid-19 pandemic.

On this occasion, the Ambassador and Mr. Toshinori Hara, the President of the Association along with members of the association exchanged views on the investment opportunity in Thailand and ways to promote two-way tourism, particularly after Japan relax edits border measures on 11 October 2022.

The Saitama-Thailand Friendship Association was established in March 1999 and have been conducting many activities to promote Saitama-Thailand wide-ranging cooperation covering sports, economic, social, cultural, and educational aspects. Furthermore, Kawagoe, the famous town of Saitama, has served as a host town for Thai karate players during Tokyo Olympic.
