The Ambassador congratulated the Thai Agricultural Youths for finishing their training and stressed that this 40thbatchreflects both long-standing cooperation between Thailand and Japan, and the importance of agricultural sector shared by both countries. The Ambassador hoped that the Thai Agricultural Youths would bring back the experiences and techniques of Japanese agriculture to further develop the country and their family’s farms. He also expressed thanks to JAEC for giving Thai agricultural youths the invaluable opportunity, and was delighted to learn that the Office of Agricultural Affairs and JAEC brought Japanese host families to visit Thai Agricultural Youths in Thailand earlier in February this year as a follow-up measure.

The 19 Thai Agricultural Youths were dispersed in ten prefectures in Japan, learning how to grow certain types of vegetables, fruits (apple, oranges and strawberries), rice, livestock (swine and cattle) and plant nursery. Most of them lived with the families who used to host their predecessors.
