On 8 March 2023, Mr. Perames Vudthitornetiraks, President of Neighbouring Countries Economic Development Cooperation Agency (NEDA), and his delegation, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan. Both sides exchanged views on NEDA’s current project status and cooperation between NEDA and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). In addition, the Ambassador provided information on “Friends from Thailand” project, which is collaboration between Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and JICA. Under this project, a number of Thai Volunteers were sent to different cities in Japan to support local tourism industry starting from 2022. The result was so successful that JICA intends to continue the project as well as increases the number of Thai volunteers.
