Ambassador gave a briefing to Japanese company representativesbefore departing to Thailand for the 24th Japan-Thailand Joint Trade and Economic Committee Meeting

On 6 March 2023, Keidanren’s Japan-Thailand Trade and Economic Committee, led by Mr. SUZUKI Yoshihisa and Mr. SUZUKI Jun, co-chairpersons, invited H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, to attend the Inauguration Ceremony of the Japanese delegation to participate in the 24^th Japan-Thailand Joint Trade and Economic Committee Meeting. The said meeting is scheduled to be held in Bangkok on 16 March 2023.

On this occasion, the Ambassador gave a briefing to approximately 40 delegates about Thailand’s current economic situation and expectation of the Japanese private sector. He emphasized that Thailand and Japan have strong economic relations and recently has elevated bilateral relations to be comprehensive strategic partnership. Given the 5-year Joint Action Plan, Thailand expects investment from Japan in areas that align with the BCG Economy Model. In addition, the Ambassador underlined investment in hi-tech industries in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which will provide an engine of growth for both countries.
