MUFG executives paid a courtesy call on Ambassador

On 4 April 2023, Mr. YAMATO Kenichi, Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking Business Unit of Mitsubishi UFG Financial Group (MUFG), and Mr. SODEOKA Yoshinori, Managing Director and Head of Intelligence and Research Office, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, on the occasion of Mr. YAMATO’s assumption of a position in Thailand.
Both sides also used this opportunity to discuss various issues particularly MUFG’s investment in Thailand (Bank of Ayudhya) including its investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Overall, the MUFG’s investment in Thailand has gone well. In addition, they exchanged views on digital financial systems. On this subject, the MUFG executives viewed that Thailand’s digital finance is very advanced and moving progressively.
