Fine Thai in Your Area 2023 Prizes Presentation Ceremony

On 4 July 2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan presided over Fine Thai in Your Area 2023 prizes presentation ceremony at the Embassy Hall. The representatives of sponsoring partners were also present including Mr. Takuya Fukuyama, Assistant manager of passenger sales, East Japan, Thai Airways, Mr. Jun Aida, Director and COO, AirAsia Japan, and Ms. Ajizawa Pensri, culinary specialist representing Spice Road Co. The prizes this year were Bangkok-Tokyo round-trip tickets from Thai Airways and Thai AirAsia X, accommodation vouchers for hotels in Pattaya (August Suites, April Suites and March Hotel), restaurant vouchers and many more.

On this occasion, Ambassador congratulates the lucky winners and expressed his appreciation to partners that joined the project which promoted Thai cultures to the wider Japanese public. The fact that this year's lucky winners were from different areas from Miyagi to Okinawa reflected that the project met its objective. The Embassy is very pleased to take feedbacks to improve the project going forward.

The Fine Thai in Your Area project was established in 2022. It was an online platform that provided Japanese friends with special campaign and services of Thai restaurants and shops in their neighborhood, as a substitute of the annual Thai Festival that was paused due to the COVID-19. As for this year, although the Thai Festival at Yoyogi Park was back but the Embassy decided to continue the Fine Thai in Your Area, which was held from May 15 to June 15, 2023, so that those who could not go to the Thai festivals in Yoyogi Park and other venues, could still enjoy fine Thai in their neighborhood. The campaign was held in 3 areas: "Eating" which provided promotions and special discounts from 48 participating restaurants, "Shopping" which offered Thai products at special prices from 35 shops and "Experience" which offered special packages to experience Thai arts and culture through 28 participating institutions. The online platform of the campaign gained 870,419 views in total.

Fine Thai in Your Area 2023 is one of the collaborations among Team Thailand in Japan, namely the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Osaka, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka, Commercial Affairs of the Royal Thai Embassy and TAT Tokyo office.
