Ambassador Singtong led a delegation to visit Fukushima to learn about environmentally friendly industries


On 22 – 23 June 2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, led a delegation comprising of representatives from Thai energy companies who invest in Japan, namely Banpu Japan, BCPG (Bangchak Corporation Group), and Future Asset Management (Gunkul Engineering), to visit Fukushima Prefecture to learn about environmentally-friendly industries. Officials from Team Thailand in Tokyo also joined the visit.

The delegation visited facilities for renewable energies, medical technologies and robotics in
5 different places, i.e. (1) Fukushima Medical Device Development Support Center; (2) Fukushima Renewable Energy Institute (FREA); (3) Fukushima Robot Test Field; (4) Mobile Hydrogen Station “Nami-Energy”; and (5) Fukushima Hydrogen Energy Research Field (FH2R).

In addition, the Ambassador and the delegation paid a courtesy call on Mr. UCHIBORI Masao, Governor of Fukushima Prefecture. Their discussion was focused on advanced industrial cooperation between Fukushima and Thailand.
