The Embassy congratulated Thai youth who participated in the Sakura Science Exchange Programme.

On 27 November 2022, Mr. Romdej Phisalaphong, Minister Counsellor, participated in the closing ceremony of Sakura Science Exchange Programme organised by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) at Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.

The program aims to provide opportunities for youth from all over the world to experience Japanese science, technology and innovation. This year, 36 youth representatives and supervisors from 7 countries, namely Brazil, Chile, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Palau, Peru, and Thailand, participated in the programme. This includes four Thai students, one from Phayao, one from Nakhon Ratchasima, and two from Bangkok. Minister-Counsellor Romdej congratulated the students and also encourgaged them to gain experience as much as possible during their visit to Japan.

The Sakura Science Exchange Programme was initiated in 2014 to support human resource development and to upgrade scientific knowledge and innovations under the cooperation of various academics from Japan and worldwide through short-term trainings. Until 2019, more than 30,000 youths and interested people had joined the project.
