President of Japanese Association in Thailand called on Ambassador

On 28 June 2023, Mr. SHIMADA Atsushi, the President of Japanese Association in Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan. The President informed Ambassador Singtong of the Association’s activities in year 2022-2023 and exchanged views on promoting people-to-people ties between Japan and Thailand.
The Japanese Association in Thailand was founded in 1913. It is the oldest Japanese association in foreign country, and this year marks its 110thanniversary. Moreover, the Japanese Association in Bangkok has the biggest number of members with more than 4,875individuals and 513 companies. (as of September 2022) The Association plays a major role in organizing cultural activities and supporting the Japanese citizens living in Thailand.
