Ambassador and Team Thailand learned about the Nuclear Technology Specialist Training Program at the Japan Atomic Energy Agency in Ibaraki Prefecture

On 24 July 2023, H.E. Mr. Singtong Lapisatepun, Ambassador of Thailand to Japan, led the Team Thailand officials to visit the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) in Ibaraki Prefecture to observe the International Training Program (ITP) which is organized by the Nuclear Human Resources Development Center (NuHRDeC).
The program is a “Train the Trainer” training program for nuclear technology specialists from various countries across Asia. Thailand has participated in the program since 1996 and, until now, there are more than 100 trainees from Thailand.
On this occasion, the Ambassador discussed with NuHREeC executives about the application of nuclear energy in various industries and further cooperation between Thailand and JAEA, especially on enhancing human resources to drive nuclear-related technological development in Thailand. In addition, the Ambassador and the delegation had the opportunity to observe the ITP’s lecture and hands-on trainings, as well as to meet participants from Thailand.
