Thai Embassy representative attended the Thai Day event organised at the Kasama City Stadium, Ibaraki Prefecture

On September 3, 2023, Ms. Urawat Sukseangdow, Minister Counsellor, represented the Royal Thai Embassy in the Thai Day, organized by the Ibaraki Astro Planet Club in parallel with a baseball game between the Ibaraki Astro Planet team and the Kanagawa Future Dreams team at the Kasama City Stadium, Ibaraki Prefecture. The Ibaraki Astro Planet Club has recruited a Thai baseball player, Mr. Narupol Muangkasem, to play for its team for 6 months in the 2023 season.

The small-scaled event had three kitchen trucks selling Thai foods, a few Thai shops selling Thai food ingredients and drinks, and a booth by the Mettatham Thai Temple in Ibaraki Prefecture promoting Thai Buddhist culture.

At the opening ceremony, Ms. Urawat made a remark about Thai-Japanese relations in sports and expressed appreciation in having a Thai athlete to join a baseball club in Japan. There were also Thai boxing performances and surprises from Ibaraki Astro Planet's mascots, riding in tuk-tuks (a small Thai style 3-wheel car) running around the stadium.
