Thai and foreign residents in Ishikawa Prefecture and nearby areas whose affected by the earthquake on 1 January 2024, received relief items from Thailand dispatched through the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo in collaboration with relevant Thai and Japanese private sector. The said humanitarian relief was successful with the assistance and facilitation of NPO YOU-I and other related local NPOs, including the Thai-Ishikawa Friendship Association.
In a gesture of solidarity and support, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo in collaboration with prominent importers, including PK Siam, Kitoku Shinryo, and Wannaphop Company, have extended a helping hand to those affected in Japan in three significant rounds of aid.
On 10 January 2024, the first round included the relief items including crucial household necessities and essential medicines such as cold and fever relief medicines,
Thai herbal “Fah TaLai Jone” capsules for sore throat, supplementary drinks, facial masks; tissue boxes; toilet papers; sanitary pads.
On 16 January2024, the second round included Thai canned fish, bottled water, various snacks, along with essential household medicines and daily necessities. Additionally, instant Thai noodles, coconut water, orange juice, retort cookedjasmine rice and sticky ricewere also provided.
On 19 January 2024, the third round of assistance consisted of 4,000 packs of 5-kilogram Thai grain rice in total of 20,000 kilograms.
The Royal Thai Embassy wishes to expressour appreciation to all parties involved for their valuable support in successfully delivering this aid. This gesture not only symbolizes the enduring friendship between Thailand and Japan but also underscores the commitment to alleviate the burdens faced by those affected during challenging times.
Through these rounds of humanitarian assistance, the Royal Thai Embassy and our partners reaffirm our dedication in standing by the Thai and foreign residents, as well as the people of Japan through offering moral and relief supports during their times of need.
