A Discussion on Japan’s Foreign, Security and Economic Policy with Forum 21

On 18 March 2024, a delegation from Forum 21, led by Mr. KATO Yota, Senior Foreign Policy Coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and representatives from private companies, namely, Asahi Kasei, Kajima, Sony Semiconductor Solutions, Komatsu, NTT, and NTT East, met with
Ms. Prangtip Kanchanahattakij, Deputy Chief of Mission. They exchanged views on Thailand - Japan relations, Thailand's role in ASEAN, and current global affairs which are in the interest of Thailand and Japan. The Forum 21 will process the information received from the Embassy and put into a proposed policy paper on Japan foreign affairs and security.
The Deputy Chief of Mission also took this opportunity to emphasize the importance for Japan and Thailand to nurture their close and cordial partnership and explore possibilities to expand their cooperation in various dimensions, particularly trade, investment and tourism.
